WHEREAS The LDAC definition of Learning Disabilities (LD), adopted in 2002 and re-endorsed in 2015, states: “Learning disabilities may co-exist with various conditions, including attentional, behavioural and emotional disorders, sensory impairments or other medical conditions”.Â
THEREFORE, the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada accepts that the support of people with LD may include supporting ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) as a frequently co-existing condition and that this strengthens and adds value to the support that LDAC and its provincial, territorial and local partners provide to people with LD.
Adopted by the LDAC Board of Directors on April 30, 2025
